An impetus to start anew:
After graduating from Binghamton University in 2016, I joined PwC as a technology consultant. In 2021, I took a break from my role implementing financial ERP systems and embarked on an epic 6 month journey, successfully hiking the Appalachian Trail (AT). Completing the ~2200 mile trek was a life changing adventure which included two key revelations that directly led to the formation of AquaThumb:
1. Fascination with water: Crossing 14 states following the beautiful Appalachian mountain range the trail crossed thousands of small springs, streams, rivers, and gorgeous waterfalls. I couldn't help but stop at each one!
2. Making a positive impact: The 6 month hike provided ample time for reflection. I realized that some of my favorite recent memories came from building water features. Even more impactful, I realized that completing water features always brought smiles & joy to the new proud owners of the feature.

The path forward became clear, finding a way to bring that enjoyment and happiness to as many people as possible, and AquaThumb (AT) was born!

My Beginning:
I was born in a small town between Rochester and Syracuse NY. Growing up, a large portion of every summer was spent hiking and adventuring in the high peaks region of the Adirondacks. Climbing high peaks turned into a passion, but even on the longest hikes I would always take a minute to admire every stream/waterfall that the family and I passed. If a portion of a trail's drainage system was dammed up or blocked, it became a habit to stick a trekking pole in to clear the blockage and watch the water's path change and flow. My fascination with anything that included moving water had begun!
